Alie + Chance! >> Modern Rochester Art Center Wedding

This may read like My Favorite Things by Julie Andrews but I want you to set it to the tune of The Best by Tina Turner.
(Then turn that mental hum up reeeeal loud when the couple makes their grand entrance into their reception, as that was the song we were all cheering, clapping, and jamming to.)

Let’s start with Photo 1 and prly the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen?? I “finished” shooting it 3x before picking it back up to try a new version.

Ok, now rewind to May and the original wedding date. As any Covid couple + vendor knows, logistics have been loco this year. Props to A+C for their gracious and caring attitudes, and for rolling with the punches.

Alright, now fast forward again until it’s time to head to the guy’s den for the first time on the wedding day. Directions: take the elevator to the basement and follow the sounds of laughter. You’ll find ‘em. They’re ahead of schedule and playing games with ping pong balls and buckets, mood light and vibe high. I adore them already.

Meanwhile on the bride side of things, it is chiiiiill and relaxiiing yet organized and efficient while they get their makeup done and quote Schitt’s Creek. The hard work is done and they’re hanging out, no stress. I love this journey for them. Tweet them on Facebook.

And then the classic favorite: first look. Big emotions. Big hugs. And Chance’s momma commenting on how happy her son looks from a vantage point around the corner.

And then the shooting! And the “we trust you completely” followed by huge photog smiles of gratitude. There are groomsmen that can’t stop laughing and bridesmaids cracking each other up too. Meanwhile the light inside the Art Center is completely dreamy and I’m clicking as fast as my finger allows for.

(You following still? This has gotten a lot longer than I thought it would, lol.)

And then it’s party time! Guests arrive, it’s feeling festive, and there’s the most beautiful cake to admire every time as I criss cross the floor getting guest candids.

*INSERT TINA TUNER!!!*

Once we’re all seated for dinner, it’s a karaoke rap show on the mic to get our couple to kiss and I indulge in steak and macaroni and cheese. *Chef’s kiss* Then we get cake (woo! at last!), there’s hilarious speeches, a perfect golden hour, and a dance floor full of fun. After a run through a row of sparklers, I’m packing up my gear with a permanent smile on my face and memory cards fullllll of a beautiful day with two beautiful people.

And it’s simply the best. ;)

Congrats, A+C!
