Let’s talk studios!
Having an indoor space lined up is great when you don’t want to worry about weather. Here are a few of my favorite studio rentals in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro, plus links to a few that I’d like to experience.

01. Juniper Loft, Minneapolis
Best features: The versatility, size, and value at $75 per hour. I love the plain white walls and exposed brick, making all outfits look good.
Things to consider: In the summer, it will be hot as there isn’t great airflow. Aim for a morning spot in warmer weather. In case accessibility is a factor for you, there’s no ramp into the building, just a small set of stairs.
Works best for: Everything! I think it’s especially great for families as there’s plenty of seating, space to drop things, and the opportunity to run around.
02. Abide Studios, Minneapolis
Best features: The light is incredible! Very light and bright, with modern furniture.
Things to consider: Abide is a very popular studio; I’d advise securing a spot ASAP, especially if you’re hoping for a weekend. The hourly rate is $110.
Works best for: All session types at any time of day.
03. Bonita, St Paul
Best features: The vibes. It’s original, rich, and gorgeous.
Things to consider: It’s one of the more expensive studios in the area, starting at $125 an hour. When there are holiday installs, it’s $160+. I did my own holiday card here last year, it’s so good!
Works best for: Small groups. It’s not a big space.
04. Hive House, Stillwater
Best features: It’s a great value at $70 an hour. There are two shooting areas, one white and one black, with multiple chairs and couches to work with.
Things to consider: It’s further outside the metro in Stillwater. It requires two flights of stairs up to the studio.
Works best for: Families, couples, and boudoir.
