Who are these sessions for?

Mini sessions are designed for groups of 6 or less. These can be single families, couples, maternity, a few headshots—let’s chat about what you’re envisioning. The session types that aren’t conducive to a mini structure are boudoir, multi-family, newborns under 3 months, or families with very shy children that need longer than 15 minutes to open up to the camera.

How is a mini different from a full session?

Minis are shorter shoots that work best with a more singular focus, e.g. a holiday card, pregnancy announcement, or milestone birthday. There is less variety in posing, number of backgrounds, and groupings, and it costs less than a full session. It allows for more family documentation and takes advantage of a special location or a peak seasonal change. Minis are only offered a couple times a year as my availability allows, while full sessions of 30 and 60 minutes come with a wider range of options and customizations.

What should I wear?

The centerpiece fountain is such an elegant feature, so getting a little fancier with it would look beautiful. Sundresses, bows, linen, slacks, knits: all great! For colors, most concepts work. The newly restored fountain is dark, the flowers in the pots surrounding are bright warm colors, and the landscaping in the park has big white flowering bushes in July. So whether you go for more pastels, brighter colors, or incorporate darker shades, there’s a place for all of them!

Can we bring pets?

Sure, you can bring a dog as long as it stays on leash. I’d advise coming early and getting your dog used to the environment so we don’t have to spend our shooting time calming them down.

What if I’m running late?

I may be able to accommodate you at the very end of my sessions, but please account for extra time getting to the park.

What if it’s raining?

We have options with this one! Our backup date will be the following day: Sunday, July 13 at the same times. I do have more flexibility with this round of minis for weather make-ups—this is my own neighborhood park and I walk here almost daily. I’ll be in touch in the case of inclement weather.
