The Complete Studio KH Wedding Guide

Section 7:

Couple’s Photos

Typically happening either right after the first look or immediately following the ceremony, this is the time for just the two of you. I’ll be guiding you through some simple movements and encouraging you to feel those feelings. I’m always aiming for genuine laughs with a side of romance, but rest easy we’ll get plenty of classic smiles for the camera too.

Portrait tips:

  • To maximize our shooting time, limiting the amount of driving and off-site photo locations will help. If there is somewhere special nearby, let’s chat about it! Sometimes there are just more important things than logistics.

  • Feeling a little self conscious as we prep for portraits of just the two of you? Do let me know! I’m sensitive to any aspects of your appearance that may not be your favorite, and I aim to pose accordingly. Let’s make you some portraits you love, yeah?

  • Guys, make sure your pants pockets are completely empty. Cell phones can usually slip undetected into the breast pocket of a jacket. With wallets, we can make-do with a back pocket for portraits.

  • Want to include a pet for a portion? Let’s do it! (Honestly, what’s cuter than a dog in a bowtie?) Please delegate someone you know and trust to fetch them, look after them until we’re ready, and return them once we’ve got the shots. It usually amounts to 5 minutes of camera time, unless they’re also involved in the ceremony. It’d also be a good idea to have a lint roller and some treats accompany your pet.
