Recently, I was asked if I ever get tired of shooting at Mayowood Stone Barn.
The short answer: NO!
The long answer: A little reading and a lot of scrolling.
Yes, I've already shot a first look under the archway while the rain trickled down upon the rooftops.
But I'd be hard pressed to find a groom more honest and articulate, as he spun around to face his stunner of a bride. (One of the things I've learned about S is that he always seem to have the right words to say at the exact right moment. Rendered eeeeven better with an Australian accent.)
Nope, it's not the first time I've seen green, floor length gowns decorate the bridesmaids here.
But I've never seen each lady cry, laugh, then cry again as they took turns standing next to their girl during bridal party photos.
Yes, I've already photographed several weddings up in that dreamy loft space.
But I've never seen the emotions that certainly must always ensue when it's officiated by the father of the bride following the walk down the aisle.
Sure, I've had a drink with the groomsmen during cocktail hour.
But I've never gotten to share a 15 year old single malt with a best man who always strove to make me feel included.
Yep, I've seen (and always love!) a good campfire + smores kit as the sun goes down.
But I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of sharing it with a poppa this proud, fanning the flames while he extolls the virtues of his new son-in-law and reminisces about his daughters from "back in the day."
In short (we're back to that) I never do get sick of this place, because every couple, every family, every day is different. And in this case, the words warm, gorgeous, and genuine apply to all of the nouns above. <3
Congrats, H + S!
